I’m trying to honor my childrens’ (12 & 16) wish to remain in public school here in New York State without subjecting them to any more vaccines. A sympathetic pediatrician wrote us a Medical Exemption but the District Medical Director (via the school nurse) is requesting “more information,” claiming that a past adverse reaction to a vaccine does not necessarily exempt a student from a future vaccine. New York State has become particularly strict about medical exemptions since doing away with religious exemptions in 2019. I took the Law for Mankind course last summer hoping to use the knowledge to spare my daughter from last year’s shot, but didn’t feel confident in my knowledge to implement successfully by that fall. I could use some advice and guidance as to how best to formulate my notice and prepare my claim, should it come to that. With Gratitude, Mike Merenda
