My Comment/Thoughts #6 Impossible Situation – Legal becomes law when you agree to it I vaguely recall you (Greg Paul) indicating during one of the Implemention Sessions (i think) – that the universe will give us what seems like an impossible situation. Well, I received my ‘impossible situation’ in 2023. My dad passed away about 10 years ago. Prior to that he sold a large piece of land. In March of 2023 my brother, sister and I were contacted by the lawyer of the couple that purchased a large portion (not all of the land). The lawyer more or less asked my sister and I to sign a waiver stating that we were ‘okay’ with letting my brother act on our behalf in settling a descrepancy in the prior land sale – and that the legal fees would be covered by the couple that bought the land. Even though the sale of the land was complete years ago, apparently my dad neglected to transfer the deed for some of the parcels over to the new owners. I procrastinated for months with no response (for no good reason other than that I simply wanted to enjoy the beautiful summer weather) – not spend all my somewhat limited free time hunched over a computer studying LFM. The simplest most loving thing for me to do (i think – in hind site) would have been to sign the waiver immediately, thank and trust my brother and the lawyer to act with honor, and let legal become law – so to speak. It was my dad’s contract after all – not mine. I didn’t want to though, because it entailed taking on a title, etc. It did not occur to me until it was too late that all I had to do (if i wanted to act as a woman and not take on a legal title) was draft a few simple correspondence letters with the same message to remove the controversy and offer remedy – one to the couple that bought the land, one to the woman who at times acts as court staff and one to the man who was acting as lawyer – stating something like i, a woman, born on NN/NN/NNNN to the man ______ agree that the deed to parcel numbers 123 and 456 should be transferred to Bob and Betty. Instead, I waited until a couple of days before the court date then signed and returned the waiver – to avoid having to go to court. I learned my lesson the hard way. Law needs to be expressed.
