I find my addictions to learning, and also procrastinating/drifting to be incredibly refractory. I understand perfectionism (fear of failure) and my identification with intellect is at the root of these addictions. I am always active intellectually – researching and learning. Ideas come to me and I passionately explore them, but get stuck there, lose momentum and fail to move to the birthing stage. I know that structure and schedule is likely what I need to disturb this very embedded habit, but I’m spinning my wheels. In this area, I continue to cling to safety so I obviously haven’t adequately challenged my fear of failure. I witness moments of my self choosing to follow the ruts, and simultaneously experience disappointment and relief – because I tell my self that next time will be different. Is this a matter of willpower and discipline? How else can I challenge this addiction? Even asking this question to face exploring this with you causes anxiety. Of course I like to be an observer and remain in background – no chance of failure there.

I was once one of four directors of an aviation company (2015 – 2018); i bought in and agreed to be a company director – this is in Queensland, Australia; the company was going broke, i resigned as director, however still was “responsible for Directors Super Guarantee – the company owed the Australian Tax Office. The ATO then sent me a Director Penalty Notice, which I have not paid, however they have been taking my refund due back to me. I have not got my head around everything yet to be confident to stand up to the ATO, but was hopeful you could give me some direction please?

My wife and I recently returned from Greece to Malaysia with several items from the duty free shop in Athens. When crossing Malaysian customs at Penang Intl Airport, two (2) containers of feta cheese, totalling 3KG, were taken from us, on the grounds that the importation of animal products is not allowed. Interestingly, this cheese is available in local Malaysian grocery stores and the customs officer stated that those stores have applied for permission to import these items, with the corresponding health certificates and inspections. Note that the boxes of cheese were sealed in the translucent duty free bags in Athens and remained closed and sealed for the entire journey to Malaysia. In the “Detention Notice” that I was given and signed (to certify that I have read and understood the notice), it states the reason for the detention (Section 114 of the Customs Act 1967), and that I am given 1 month from the date of detention to forward my claim. Failure to do so, the goods will be forfeited under section 128 of the same Act. What is the best way to proceed in order to get the feta cheese returned?

When you asked HMRC whether ‘money loaned by you to your estate was taxable’ I continue to this day to have a sense this is much bigger in its key point than i have been able to comprehend well enough when pondering this question (and its answer) – could you please discuss this further for clarity from the perspective of YOU and your ESTATE and whether it is referring to considerations such as the strawman, the estate and a man; and or income and compensation for labour; and or which is which and any other aspects to consider for how this could be used by a wo/man; i am away during some of this bootcamp so i am unsure if i will be on live when/if this question were to be addressed – but hopefully so.

I’m trying to honor my childrens’ (12 & 16) wish to remain in public school here in New York State without subjecting them to any more vaccines. A sympathetic pediatrician wrote us a Medical Exemption but the District Medical Director (via the school nurse) is requesting “more information,” claiming that a past adverse reaction to a vaccine does not necessarily exempt a student from a future vaccine. New York State has become particularly strict about medical exemptions since doing away with religious exemptions in 2019. I took the Law for Mankind course last summer hoping to use the knowledge to spare my daughter from last year’s shot, but didn’t feel confident in my knowledge to implement successfully by that fall. I could use some advice and guidance as to how best to formulate my notice and prepare my claim, should it come to that. With Gratitude, Mike Merenda

I’ve been engaged in litigation with 2 administrative regulators for 6 years. I took a principled stand refusing to disclose personal financial data of customers on the basis that it was private property and the securities regulator had no jurisdiction to compel compliance with a summons. I confidently invited them to assert contempt and request a Court to endorse their summons; they refused and kept the matter in-house and ran a farcical hearing finding me guilty of “obstruction, fining me $184K, and banning me from Capital Markets. All of which is completely inconsequential to me as I’m disinterested in regulated capital markets, am ‘judgment-proof’ against the monetary fine, and have the respect/trust of those individuals whose private affairs I protected. My question for this event, is whether it’s advisable to invest the energy, time, money into “setting the record straight” by publishing the full context online so 3rd party observers researching the history of the matter will be capable of making an informed assessment of my character and those who tried to squeeze me into breaching trust of customers. I lean strongly towards doing so, but am curious as to what this community views as the best practice in such scenarios.

Hello, I’m a third generation farmer in California. The farm land that we’re currently working belonged to my dad and uncle. My dad passed away about a month ago and my mom and uncle are now partners with me as manager. The farm business is incorporated and currently, one of the biggest problems we have is the state claiming ownership of the groundwater and fining us for using our own well past an arbitrary allotment that they set. Because the land/business is not under my name, but instead under a Family Limited Partnership, I’m not sure if anything can be done at this time without restructuring how our family farm is set up but would be grateful for any assistance or advice that is offered. Thank you.
