I have heard that there is something that the parents of a child should do when he/she is 7 years old to prevent them being assumed to be “lost at sea” and that there is something that the child themselves should do when they come of age, perhaps to “claim their minority rights”. I have not yet been able to find out exactly what either of these actions should be. As I have a nephew who is 7 until July, I would greatly appreciate it if you could shed some light on this question. Thanks in advance!
