I live in the US in a state that’s pretty open as far as homeschooling goes. How can I protect my family if that ever changes?

I would like information about protecting parents rights to make their own decisions on the education for their children, especially those who choose to homeschool, without needing to meet state standards, state testing, providing curriculum or documentation.
