Can there be multiple court cases for the same issue? I might be invited to a court as a citizen for not paying tax at the same time as I invite the man sometimes acting as a tax collector to a jury man-to-man? Or does one cancel the other? How?

Sorry, I haven't yet learnt which is which trial by jury or jury trial…
