Regarding avoiding tyrannical rules, taxation, property protection, etc., Jon and Greg have referred to status changes and the like as not worth the time and effort. What is their opinion on obtaining the land patent to your land to become true steward of the land such that no governmental or other agency has any say over your land. (Whereas the warranty deed to your land that most of us have does not protect your land.) It is also my understanding that when you obtain a land patent you are off the tax docket so not subject to property taxes. Do Jon and Greg have any opinion regarding obtaining a land patent to protect your land with the added benefit of avoiding taxation that may not be in line with what you support (ie local school policies masking children, etc)?
